Illustrate That

I spend a lot of time in the Memorial Union.  Between working, studying, and visiting people I know that work there, I make a visit five or six times a week. This room, the West Lounge, is one of my favorite rooms to be in.  I have always enjoyed studying here.  The lighting and colors in the room are very elegant and relaxing.  There is a piano in the room which can be very nice when someone is playing that actually knows how to play.  On the flip side, you can imagine how obnoxious it can be if the person playing does not know how to play.

For about two years I have wanted to take stop in and take some pictures but it wasn’t until recently that I actually went out and did it.  It’s hard to find a time when there are few to no people in the room.  Usually you find students up late at night escaping their roommates studying or working on homework.  I was lucky enough to find just one guy in the room that didn’t mind me taking some pictures.

On this same shoot I took a few pictures at the M-Shop for a little project I am working on.  Unfortunately they did not turn out the way I had hoped.  I learned some important things about HDR shooting though.  In the most exposed image, try to avoid having pure black pixels in your most underexposed image and avoid pure white pixels in your most overexposed image.  I will experiment a little more with low light HDR shooting and hopefully will return with some helpful hints.  Once again, thanks to Justin at The Windy Pixel for his help!
